It was soft going when YOUNG FIRE won this last year and he looks to have strong claims once again having gone close at York on last month’s reappearance. He finished ahead of the previous winners Boardman and Titan Rock on that occasion and gets the vote to go one better. Oo De Lally has a shout on his earlier second at York while Marshal Dan ran well at Goodwood in May and is preferred to Dashing Roger. Stone Soldier can race off a much lower mark on this surface while Tacarib Bay drops down in class.
