In depth

Verdict

Un Prophete would surely have won at Fontwell in February had he stood up and a run at Huntingdon a week later may have come too soon, though he could have done without an 8lb rise. Debece jumped boldly out in front when well backed at Sandown three weeks ago but was headed on the run-in and carries 2lb more here, though holds Innisfree Lad on that run. Silva Eclipse has won around here over hurdles and was having only his second start over fences when scoring at Sedgefield. Crossley Tender has had a terrific season and was beaten under a length by Sam’s Adventure in the Eider five weeks ago. VERSATILITY was well behind Debece and Innisfree Lad at Sandown but a bad blunder at the first put him on the back foot and he never recovered. This better ground is in his favour and an error-free round can see him go close. Defuture Is Bright did well to catch Smuggler's Blues at Fakenham as he was badly hampered on the final circuit and he looks the pick of the remainder alongside stablemate Strictlyadancer and the hat-trick seeking Checkitout.
