Verdict
Sir Mark Prescott's team is beginning to strike top form, and with that in mind Parachute looks the one to beat here, although he would not be one to follow at cramped odds; Tom Paddington, Forever Loved and Marakabei are other who should be considered. Parachute was beaten by a fair sort in Sun Bird at Musselburgh last time and although a beaten favourite that day it was no disgrace to finish only a length behind. He had earlier scored three times on sand, and back over what looks to be the perfect trip for him, Parachute looks the one to beat here. Tom Paddington was coming back from a very long absence when fourth in a competitive handicap at Newbury last time and will appreciate this longer trip so he looks to have an excellent chance under Richard Hughes. Marakabei showed a good turn of foot to win at Nottingham on her reappearance and would have claims on that form, while Forever Loved has been knocking at the door and the booking of useful three pound claimer David Allan could be significant. But Parachute is the one horse in the field who is most likely to show improved form, and for that reason he just gets the vote.
