Verdict

This opener looks a good opportunity for Phar From A Fiddle to make the long trip from Paul Nicholls's yard pay off, with Emperor Ross and Little Brown Bear the potential dangers. The selection has run in much better company than this in the past year or so, albeit over fences. However, the return to hurdling, over which he is still a maiden should hold no fears. Trip and ground here should suit and he is taken to score. Emperor Ross will be on hand to expose any weaknesses in the selection's armoury. The Roselier gelding will also go on the ground and comfortably get the trip. He has also been in decent form when recently tried over timber, but the fact that he has to give 6lbs to the selection here makes it a very tough task. Of the remainder, Little Brown Bear is in good form, with a course and distance win to his name recently and he can claim a place against these stronger rivals, but Phar From A Fiddle is taken to lead them home.
