Verdict
No one rides Perth better than Tony Dobbin, and he can rack up yet another win here on board top weight Zsarabak, with Jamorin Dancer, stablemate Able Native and Master Henry the three leading challengers. Peter Niven-trained Zsarabak has been campaigned unsuccessfully over further than this recently, but the drop back in trip is only a minor concern as he can make this a test of stamina in itself. He goes well on the ground and the booking of Dobbin is a definite plus, so he is taken to score. Jamorin Dancer has been bridesmaid regularly in recent times and may have to settle for the same spot here. More of a two mile specialist, the Richard Guest-trained runner comes here on the same mark of 83 as he has been for his last three second-placed efforts, including one over course and distance in June, and he just seems unable to quicken when it really matters, so the same fate is likely to occur. Able Native hails from the same County Durham yard as Jamorin Dancer and returns to fences after a spell of hurdling. A capable sort, he looks to be exposed at the moment and would also prefer further, so he is passed over. Master Henry, on the other hand, has been given a chance by the handicapper after a recent drop down the weights. He enjoys both trip and ground and can run into a place, but the vote here goes to Zsarabak.
