    Verdict

Sandret, the senior runner in this, was more than five lengths behind CAMELOT TALES when the Crisfords’ gelding won at Ayr in July. The latter is only a pound higher today and has every chance of picking up the winning thread again if first-time blinkers help him settle better. Miramichi is on a roll but has risen 21lb in the weights in less than three months while the hat-trick seeking Bake steps up from a mile. Fairmac is only 1-11 this year and has come up short off similar marks in his last three starts.

Camelot Tales (FR) 85-40 (9-6) Raced keenly, held up in 5th, ridden out wide and unable to quicken inside final 2f, stayed on inside final furlong, went modest 4th towards finish, never going pace to threaten, 4th of 6, 4l behind Tawaareq (9-3) at Newbury 1m 2f hcp (4) gd in Aug.
