In depth
Verdict
Feu Duty carries a 6lb penalty for her win at Carlisle last month, but is due to go up 8lbs in future handicaps so can be considered well treated, however, an ability to handle this ground has to be taken on trust and we would rather side with Baron Rhodes, who is preferred to Treasure Cay. The last mentioned has yet to encounter a soft surface but is bred to appreciate it so has to be respected. Tizzy's Law won her maiden on a soft surface and could be interesting back on this ground but does not appear to be particularly well treated, while Abelard has a long absence to overcome. Top weight Baylaw Star has form on a soft surface but may struggle to give 4lbs to the selection Baron Rhodes. John Wainwright's filly has had a lot more racing than some of her rivals but is a consistent performer, goes well on the ground and has been in good form of late. With more to come back on a softer surface, Baron Rhodes gets the vote.
