In depth

Subcontinent was readily outpaced by Exosphere at Doncaster last time. The latter's trainer runs Wolverhampton maiden winner Hakka in this and should know where he stands. Cymro shot up the weights after winning a Chester maiden and couldn't cope at Epsom. Recent course and distance winner Jumeirah Glory may need softer going while Jupiter Custos is proving hard to place. LORD BEN STACK has faced some impossible tasks since winning his maiden here in September. This is a more realistic target and he should give a good account, despite top weight.

Lord Ben Stack (IRE) 40-1 (9-0) Led and set good pace, headed 3f out, chased leader until over 2f out, outpaced 2f out, soon ridden and weakened, 5th of 7, 21l behind Golden Horn (9-0) at York 1m 2f 3yo Grp 2 (1) gd in May.

Subcontinent (IRE) 11-8fav (9-3) Led, driven well over 2f out, ridden and headed over 1f out, one pace inside final furlong, well held final 100 yards, 2nd of 5, 2 1/4l behind Exosphere (9-3) at Doncaster 1m 2f 3yo stk 0-90 (3) gf in Jun.

Cymro (IRE) 16-1 (9-5) Tracked leaders, pushed along over 3f out, weakened over 1f out, 9th of 13, 7l behind Stravagante (9-4) at Epsom Downs 1m 2f 3yo hcp 0-105 (2) gd in Jun.

Jumeirah Glory (IRE) 5-1 (9-5) Tracked leader, led over 2f out, soon edged left, ridden 3 lengths clear entering final furlong, all out and just held on, won at Haydock 1m 2f 3yo hcp 0-80 (4) gs in May beating Serene Beauty (9-4) by shd, 11 ran.

Jupiter Custos (FR) 10-11fav (9-5) Led after 1f, joined halfway, ridden over 1f out, headed and no extra last 100 yards, 2nd of 5, 1l behind Zamani (9-0) at Brighton 1m 2f 3yo mdn (5) gf in Jun.

Hakka 15-8 (9-2) Tracked leaders, led when gifted clear run on inside over 2f out, driven out, stayed on well, won at Wolverhampton 1m 1f mdn stks (5) in Jun beating Important Message (9-2) by 2 1/4l, 10 ran.
