In depth

Verdict

A winner at Nottingham last month, BATTLE OF WILLS found one too good over today’s trip at Ripon last time. But that form looks better in hindsight as both the winner and the third have subsequently won so James Tate’s charge gets another chance in this. Both Fearless Warrior and Fraser Island have something to prove over the distance judged on previous efforts but Frankadore was placed over the extended 1m4f at Newcastle a week ago. The remainder attempt this longer trip for the first time with Lingfield runner-up Hallalulu partnered by a 7lb claimer and preferred to Starczewski and State Of Affair.
