Verdict
From our shortlist made up of Oneway, Another Joker, Argento and Black Bullet, we will side with Oneway. The selection has looked very progressive this season in winning both starts and the feeling is that he has even more to come. At Worcester in October he beat Colonel Frank, admittedly when in receipt of weight, but that horse has since gone on to win in eyecatching style. Although he has been raised nine pounds for his Wetherby win last time, we still expect him to be competitive today. Another Joker is also progressive, having won two of his last three starts, and he was still travelling well when coming down at Becher's at Aintree last time. Argento is seven pounds better off for the three-and-a-half lengths he finished behind the selection at Wetherby, so can be given a chance, while Black Bullet, a course and distance winner, is three pounds better off for the three lengths he finished behind Rodber at Market Rasen last time, although that was his first run in a few months and he should improve a good bit on it. Much as Jefertiti is generally consistent and was well ahead of Rodber at Perth in May, it probably wouldn't pay to take that form literally. Finally, Polyphon is closely weighted with Jefertiti based on Perth form last month, and Bambi de l'Orme is threatening to land a race of this nature and was still travelling well when running out at Newbury last week. Overall, though, in a decent event, we will side with Oneway.
