Verdict

Tim Etherington's Fullandby won well on soft ground at Doncaster in November but disappointed on similarly testing ground at Ayr last month so looks best watched, while David Simcock's Fathsta invariably finds at least one too good. Richard Fahey's Valery Borzov has struggled this season but may do better on the underfoot going and makes more appeal than Tim Easterby's The Nifty Fox, who seems a shade high in the weights. Roger Charlton's Definightly would probably prefer faster ground and of more interest may be Eric Alston's Novellen Lad, who has been showing progressive form of late. The vote though goes the way of the Michael Jarvis-trained HARRY PATCH, who has only had the three starts so far but has shown a decent level of form, particularly on testing ground, and he looks worth supporting despite racing off an 8lb higher mark than when successful at Doncaster in November 2008.
