John Quinn's SELECT COMMITTEE has found just the one too good in each of his last two starts in races at Beverley and Redcar and he can gain a well deserved success racing off a 1lb lower mark than in those races with the main dangers rated as Song Of Parkes and Incomparable. Jeremy Glover's gelding has been running consistently well of late and he should be thereabouts again but may just need dropping a few pounds so looks booked for a place at best once more. Lesley's Choice has been hit hard by the handicapper for his recent wins at Southwell and Kempton and of more interest may be Paul Green's Lucky Numbers, who is better than he showed here last time. Tim Easterby's Medici Time is probably too high in the weights at present, while Rod Millman's Ocean Blaze was below par at Newmarket on his most recent start and now looks best left out of calculations. Eric Alston's Song Of Parkes is lightly raced and looks to be going the right way ahead of his handicap debut but a better bet looks to be Select Committee, who can gain a thoroughly deserved success.
