Verdict
David Simcock's Dajen has been in super form of late and comes here having won his last three starts but a 7lb rise for the latest of those successes in the soft at Yarmouth looks harsh and a better bet may be PLAY IT SAM, who gets the vote ahead of Ezdeyaad. Alan Swinbank's gelding was a narrow winner over course and distance last month and he has claims off just a 3lb higher mark today but this looks tougher. Harry Dunlop's Arrivederla is lightly raced and looks to be going the right way but seems a shade high in the weights at present, while Captain Dancer ran better at Thirsk last time but is not certain to appreciate the step up to a mile from seven furlongs. Keys of Cyprus has won his last two starts for David Nicholls and has chances of completing the hat-trick but a 6lb rise for his latest success makes this more difficult and preference is for Play It Sam. Walter Swinburn's gelding has won his last two starts as well but a 5lb rise for his most recent win at Newbury is perfectly fair and he can win again.
