Verdict

This looks a very competitive renewal. Placed in valuable staying handicaps at Cheltenham and Aintree at the end of last season, Mill Green is overdue a win but isn’t getting any younger and has ground to make up on Pounding Poet. Nicky Henderson also runs Bold Endeavour, second behind Willaston at Cheltenham last month, and Press Your Luck ran well at the same meeting having won earlier at Wincanton. Dargiannini probably warrants another try over 3m but has little in hand over Pull Again Green on Aintree running. Merry Poppins keeps finding one too good and Party Business disappointed last season but Grozni has run well in a couple of big-field handicaps in Ireland this year. A fair novice last season, TIGER JET recorded a first win in handicap company here five weeks ago. He’s been raised 7lb but is still at the right end of the handicap and finished ahead of Thanksforthehelp on worse terms at Wetherby on Boxing Day.
