Verdict
This looks the more open of the two divisions and preference for GENTLE LORD over Fityaan is marginal. Tom Dascombe's charge has twice finished behind a smart Brian Meehan juvenile, most recently in a strong Ripon contest having battled on well in the closing stages. With similar ground conditions likely here he's taken to draw on that experience and prove too strong late on for Fityaan, who would've made more appeal were Barry Hills' horses going better at present. Still, he did start life in a strong novice contest and travelled like a good horse at Lingfield which suggests he'll not be long in getting off the mark. Chokidar has shown promise too and finished just ahead of a subsequent winner at Redcar so he's not to be discounted, Cool Luke is a full brother to a juvenile winner albeit over seven while Shamdarley represents a yard who know the time of day and support would be noteworthy.
