In depth

Verdict

Two thirds of the field here have racecourse experience, with some smart form in the book while two of the newcomers are particularly interesting given connections and all this combined makes this an interesting maiden. Queen Sally is selected to land it after a fine third over the course behind Sunset Crest, who incidentally contests the opener on today's card. The additional furlong here should suit while the runner-up franked the form by finishing third in what appeared a decent Newbury maiden afterwards giving the form a solid look. Juveniles from the Muir yard tend to benefit from their initial racecourse experience so Whisky Jack deserves respect with that in mind. He hung quite badly down the straight at Windsor while also jumping the intersection of the track. Becausewecan was a bitter disappointment last time when the ground would have been quicker than ideal. The easier surface today will be more in his favour. Market support for either of the newcomers Playfellow or Prime Mood would be significant but Queen Sally is the nomination.
