      Verdict

Mijhaar looked a sure-fire future winner when staying on into second behind Fulgur on his debut at Newbury in the autumn. A few winners have come out of that race and he has to go on the short-list here. Cobbs Quay couldn't justify favouritism in a Musselburgh maiden last month, however, while Change The Subject was quickly left behind at Chester last time and may need further. James Fanshawe's stable still hasn't hit form so High Jinx is probably also best watched today, along with Mafeteng. Midnight Oil is bred in the purple but so is fellow newcomer TIMELINE, who receives the nomination. Godolphin's Elusive Quality colt, who is out of the top-class Last Second and cost 425,000gns as a yearling, is a half-brother to a number of smart performers and likely to be fully primed here.
