Verdict

Fivefootnumberone finished ahead of Rievaulx World at Chester last time and can confirm those placings and break his maiden here, while Camelot Communion is another for the short list. The selection ran better than his trainer's debutantes often do on what would have been a tricky enough debut on the Roodee, and this straight five furlongs should be a plus. He is bred to be better over further but showed enough speed that day to suggest that he can win this. Rievaulx World was not too far behind there, with the penny dropping a little later in the race, and with the yard going pretty well he is very much respected. Camelot Communion ran second in a Pontefract maiden on debut and should go on this faster ground, so with improvement anticipated she has to be in the mix. Minotaurious and Lookafternumberone are interesting debutantes who will probably be better over further and Fivefootnumberone gets the nod.
