Verdict
Kingsgate Native and Equiano both look very dangerous if at their best today, though preference is for BORDERLESCOTT. Robin Bastiman's talisman performer, the selection, has won the last two runnings of the Nunthorpe, one of the feature sprints of the year, and he has enjoyed success on ground ranging from good to firm through to soft. He reopposes Equiano today on the same terms as when beaten three-quarters-of-a-length by him at Newmarket last time, when he looked much more in need of the run than the winner, and he looks capable of reversing the placings today. Kingsgate Native romped away with a Goodwood Group 3 last season despite sweating up plenty beforehand, and the last time we saw him was when he was well held by Borderlescott at York in August. He acts on quick ground and stays beyond this trip, and he can go well when fresh so he is feared. Spin Cycle is worth a place in this, although may be short of enough class to win it, Blue Jack has a few pounds to find, but Benbaun has plenty going for him and can make a bold bid. A cracking contest in prospect and Borderlescott is the one for us.
