      Verdict

      It was soft ground at Lingfield when RESPONSE finished second on his debut. But there's no reason why he shouldn't prove as effective on this surface and the 135,000gns colt gets the vote to open his account. A step up to 1m2f brought no improvement from Estifzaaz last time but last season's second over 7f at Sandown suggests today's trip will suit, although Qawaafy wears her owner's first colours having also attempted a longer trip on her reappearance. Ravensburg looks best of the rest but has a bit to find with the principals.
