In depth

Verdict

Plenty of these hold claims, with Will He Wish and Gift Horse very much respected. But preference goes to the lightly raced St Andrews, who comes here instead of a couple of alternative engagements that were open to him this week. Michael Jarvis has always thought a lot about the son of Celtic Swing and, with conditions sure to suit, he is selected deliver on the promise he showed when returning from a long absence earlier this term. Will He Wish is better than he showed last time and is well worth keeping an eye out for in the betting, while Gift Horse is also open to improvement and can give each-way backers a good run for their money. Excelcius is another to have a look at, as he acted well when tried in a Listed race here at the start of this month. His overall profile has been a little too sketchy for a solid recommendation though, and other make more appeal - with the buck stopping with At Andrews for us, as he is a versatile character that can adapt his style to whichever way the race pans out.
