Verdict

CALYX is hard to oppose in this. John Gosden’s colt won the Coventry Stakes last summer and returned to action with a wide-margin victory in a Group 3 at Ascot to remain unbeaten. Potentially a high-class sprinter, he should have the measure of these. Hello Youmzain is not far behind on official ratings and the Group 2 winner will appreciate the return to today’s trip having only managed fourth when sent off favourite for the Greenham at Newbury last month. He looks the main threat ahead of last year’s Mill Reef runner-up True Mason and Listed winner Royal Intervention.
