In depth

Verdict

Annimation came back to her best when runner-up at Ascot last month and races off the same mark here. She's certainly one for the short-list along with Cross The Flags, who had few problems getting off the mark at Towcester three weeks ago and has more scope than most. Victoria Rose should be pressing for a place and Miss Tenacious won twice at Newton Abbot in the summer, though has a lengthy break to overcome. KATEAL shrugged off an 18-month absence to win unchallenged at Chepstow. Nick Williams' mare is taking on better opposition today and is 15lb higher in the weights but a couple of those behind at the Welsh track have franked the form since and she could easily score again.
