Verdict

Huguenot, Alecia and Strategic Plan make the shortlist here with Huguenot taken to conquer his rivals. Huguenot makes his chasing debut here and in such a weak contest, looks to have a sporting chance of making it a winning one. He is a consistent type, and having had a couple of pipe openers, showing improvement on his second run after a four month break, he should be fit for this challenge. He won over hurdles in May and is not badly treated here. Alecia ran well on her chasing bow last time, keeping on well in the closing stages to be a close fourth. She is still a maiden in 16 starts however, but this is a modest affair and she comes into the reckoning. Charlie Longsdon's Strategic Plan is to be respected. He rturned after a seven month break to run respectably in a novice hurdle recently. He will be sharper for the outing, where he tired in the closing stages and is not too exposed. Huguenot can make a winning debut over the bigger obstacles.
