Verdict
An interesting affair in which Tribal Dancer gets our vote ahead of Water Sports but there are a number of others to consider. The selection is better known as a chaser these days but has chances back over the smaller obstacles in what is not a particularly strong affair based on a recent second to the decent novice Ken'Tucky and the fact that he has a good claimer booked. Water Sports ran up a hat-trick of wins in November but is now 19lbs higher in the ratings. She is also closely weighted with Goodtimelady based on their Taunton runs in February. Now fitted with cheekpieces Water Spots might yet go well but could not be suggested with confidence. Cool Investment is also fitted with cheekpieces and, despite being better known as a chaser now, has the odd bit of hurdling form. Station Island is lightly raced but, based on his last run, is improving and certainly stays this trip, while Blasket Sound won from a higher mark three years ago but, with his rider taking off three pounds, is not too far above a more-recent winning mark. Of the others, Chater Flair is another to hold snippets of form and he stays the trip but, overall, we'll take a chance on Tribal Dancer, with that very good claimer, Sam Thomas, in the plate.
