In depth

Verdict

Luminoso is past his prime but can still pay to support here, with Sninfia, Spectacular Hope and Mead others worth noting. A big field of mainly uninspiring sorts line up in opposition here, and even though Luminoso is the oldest at 13, he at least has a win to his credit. That came at Towcester in December when he was all out to beat Protocol. That form is not that bad in the context of this race, and he should be fresher after his break. Sninfia did not jump well when well beaten at Uttoxeter and although at the age of five he has more to offer than most of these, he is still worth taking on, but Spectacular Hope makes some appeal, having run with credit when second to Polished at Towcester last time. The extra trip here may help, and he can make a bid for the frame. Mead would have been closer to Clearly Now at Uttoxeter but for a mistake at the last and he is another to consider, but in a race quickly brushed over, Luminoso is the pick to small stakes.
