Verdict

Report To Base was first past the post at Exeter at the start of the month but disqualified for missing out one of the fences. He’ll probably be backed to gain compensation as he’d finished second on the same track earlier but we’ll take a chance on the returning SHEAR ROCK. Though running for the first time since 2016, he ran the smart Ballybolley to a neck on his chasing bow and Kerry Lee likes to run her best novices here. Winning hurdler Muffins For Tea may have more to offer over fences while Royal Act gave supporters of the odds-on Le Rocher a fright at Warwick, though it may not pay to take that form too literally.
