In depth
Verdict
A bumper rounds off the card and as usual in these types of events the market will be all important but the principals look to be Jackie Boy, Ouh Jay and Top Dog and the vote goes to Jackie Boy. The selection is from a yard that does well in these types of events and this gelding by Lord Americo will not have to be anything special to win this on his debut. Ouh Jay rates the main danger as at least he has experience but he was tailed off behind Massimo and he will need to improve on that to win this.Top Dog was a fair fifth on his debut behind Itsmyboy last season and a reproduction of that effort would give him definite place claims. Slinky Malinky is another that has shown a modicum of ability but he is more exposed than most and it will be disappointing if a less exposed sort does not beat him. Of the remainder Barneys Prince is a Prince Of Peace gelding who is bred to do better in time and in a race where the market may well tell all for the winner we return to Jackie Boy.
