In depth
Verdict
Despite the size of the field, Succession can reel off another win for her in-form trainer, with Innocent Splendour, Secret Pact and Something Exciting just three lively dangers. The Sir Mark Prescott-trained Succession gained her third consecutive victory when scoring at Musselburgh at the weekend, and this half-sister to Listed race winner Succinct is still on the upgrade. The fast ground will suit and her trainer's record in nurseries speaks for itself. Innocent Splendour won very well at Folkestone last time, and with Frankie Dettori going hammer and tongs for the title, she can go close along with Secret Pact who although not beating much at Catterick, showed that she can handle a large field. Something Exciting produced a smart turn of foot when scoring at Salisbury but might be better with more give underfoot. Press Express is worthy of a mention as well with his stable in good order still, and Verbier is lightly-raced and open to further improvement as well. However, a seven-pound penalty is unlikely to stop Succession from making a bold bid to add to her tally, and she gets the vote in the opener.
