Verdict
THE UNIT has come up against some smart novices in his career over fences to date. Also highly tried in his last two runs over hurdles, Alan King’s seven-year-old will appreciate this drop in grade and should open his chasing account if he runs anywhere near his best. Jacks Last Hope was rated slightly superior to the selection over timber and could not have won any more easily on his second start over fences at Perth. He has to concede 6lb but will take advantage if the likely favourite is off his game. Sigurd couldn’t live with the first two at Cartmel last month but should have learned from the experience.
