In depth

Verdict

The standard is very poor here and with over half the field having the aid of headgear, it may prove unwise to get too carried with previous form. Named At Dinner appeals as the most likely winner despite his wins to runs ratio which reads at 1 from 57. There is little doubting that his best performances are saved for top-of-the-ground while many of his outings mid-winter were on deep winter ground over trips that stretched his stamina. Not disgraced in a similar contest to this last time, he is a one paced sort who tends to struggle when pace is injected but he sticks to his task well and should give supporters a good run. The veteran Golden Snoopy is lightly raced given his age and scored his belated first victory last time out. Although he beat horses rated in the 90s, the second Isaac Newton was under pressure with a mile to run while Laureldean Melody it seems does not want to win a race. Gunnabelil did not travel a yard on her most recent start and the manner of her battling success over the extended three mile trip on her penultimate outing suggests this 2m 4f trip could well prove to be on the sharp side. Bonneta contests handicap company for the first time and while she would be of some interest if the market speaks in her favour, she could not be put up with any confidence. Overnight has had two recent pipeopeners after a long layoff and might well have suffered the bounce factor last time after a satisfactory return. Named At Dinner is a tentative selection to land this seller.
