Verdict
Jumping is very much the key here so Billie John, Latensaani and Winter Garden have major claims, with Winter Garden sure to benefit from the assistance of Richard Johnson. Lucinda Russell likes to use Johnson when she can and employed him on Winter Garden's first visit here in April when a promising third to Ceresfield. Placed twice since, the nine-year-old should now be fully aclimatised after moving over from Ireland where he was quite useful. No slouch on the Flat in his time, he looks poised to open his account on these shores. Latensaani was pulled up at Aintree on his latest start over hurdles but had plenty of winning form over the smaller obstacles prior to that, including here, and is sure to have been well schooled. Billie John jumped well enough on his chase debut at Kelso but does have to shoulder a penalty. Nevertheless, his experience will come in handy, so he has a sound each-way chance.
