Verdict
This is probably the most competitive race of the day, but King Of The Dawn is in good heart and is probably the bet. He followed a decent win at Fontwell in early January with a fair effort when chasing home Tallow Bay at Folkestone. He has had a short break to get over those exertions, and must surely go close off just a four pounds higher mark, with the booking of Richard Johnson an additional bonus. There is not much between him and Copper Shell on that Folkestone run, but the feeling is the selection has a bit more scope. Regal Chance is potentially well treated on his handicap debut, but has not looked in love with jumping on his last two runs and is probably best watched for now. Smart Guy is capable of some shocking performances but would have a chance if on a 'going' day, while Red Oassis should strip fitter for his fourth at Hereford last time and is one who seems likely to be thereabouts.
