Verdict

The likes of Rifleman, Thirtythreeblack, Oscar Owen and Icansingarainbow boast solid credentials but there are some interesting unexposed horses in Spangle Island, Tarvini and GIVE US THE NOD with whom we're going to take a chance. In truth, he hasn't shown a great deal in his five starts to date but he's having his first run over a trip that he's bred to appreciate and it may be worth taking the chance that he'll improve for it. Spangle Island has a similar profile but is likely to start at a shorter price given her more fashionable connections. Once again, it wouldn't be a surprise if she were to show improved form now granted a test of stamina. Tarvini was beaten a long way on his latest run but that was over two miles and he's another that may appreciate this longer trip and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him improve for this stiffer test. Rifleman has yet to win over hurdles but has plenty of form at around this trip whilst Icansingarainbow has only found one too strong on each of his last two starts. Oscar Owen was seven lengths behind Thirtythreeblack when they clashed last month but he is 8lbs better off so there may not be a great deal between the pair this time around. They all have fairly solid claims but it may be worth having a speculative interest on Give Us The Nod in the hope that this trip brings about the required improvement.
