In depth

Verdict

It will be interesting to see how the ex-French-trained Overlut performs on his first start for Evan Williams but having seemingly lost his way over hurdles, he looks best watched and preference is for Tavalu, with Sunley Shines rated the pick of the remainder. The selection has shown a consistent level of form over timber and showed a liking for fences when making a winning debut over the larger obstacles at Fontwell in June. Open to further improvement, Gary Moore's gelding looks the percentage call. Dad's Elect is capable of taking a hand but has disappointed in his last two starts so may now be best watched. Dyneburg similarly disappointed on his return last month and is hard to back on that evidence and of more interest is Brendan Powell's consistent Sunley Shines. Tavalu has solid claims though and he is preferred.
