Verdict

MANY STARS showed promise between the flags and again on his second start over timber at Southwell in early December and today's conditions will suit. He has the potential to do better and gets the vote. The Backup Plan, narrowly beaten in a point-to-point in May, has been racing over trips much too short over hurdles and should get into the frame.Winning point-to-pointer Mercers Court has had a couple of runs in bumpers but his pedigree suggests he'll make a staying hurdler so he'll be going on at the finish. Tiller Belle showed potential in good ground bumpers but was soon done with on her hurdling bow in very testing going at Leicester in January. Royal Palladium has been well beaten in all four starts over timber.
