In depth
Verdict
Phillip Hobbs has stepped things up a gear with his string and the well-bred Cornish Jester is fancied to round off the meeting in fine style for the stable. Demarco, who is by French Derby winner Old Vic, is another to catch the eye from a top yard and, along with Ferimon, have to be placed on the list of alternatives from the newcomers. Of the rest: Vingis Park was a big disappointment last time and has a little to prove today. As do Gathering Storm and Victory Bell, whose efforts read respectably but still need to be improved upon. The same can be said of Swazi Prince but he at least showed a good attitude last time and is one to monitor for each way support. However, this looks likely to go to one of the newcomers it will be interesting to see if the pre-race betting market agrees that Cornish Rebel will live up to the reports about him today.
