In depth
Verdict
Not much strength in depth here and although Paphian Bay looks sure to appreciate this stiffer test along with Bison King, but Sherkin Island looks to have been found a soft race at the first time of asking. Jonjo O'Neill's Shernazar gelding was runner-up in an Irish point back in February and although absent since fitness is not normally an issue with runners from this yard. Winning pointer Scotch Corner will be suited by this trip and although pulled up on his debut over timber, improvement can be expected here. Paphian Bay wasn't disgraced when chasing home Moscow Leader at Wetherby and may do better faced with this stiffer test, while Bison King, runner-up in a bumper, has looked to have a touch of the slows over hurdles, but is another who should be capable of improvement on this step up in trip, but with stamina assured, Sherkin Island is the choice to make a winning debut under rules.
