In depth

Verdict

2017 Grand National hero One For Arthur has unseated in both subsequent starts and the jury remains out on him until showing some sign of his old self. He’s the only one weighted to match BLACK CORTON on these terms but Paul Nicholls’ charge arrives in much better form having found only Top Notch, rated 162, too good at Kempton before finishing second again in a Listed handicap at Ascot. Captain Redbeard beat the disappointing odds-on favourite Definitly Red in match over course and distance last month and should have the measure of Blue Flight at the weights despite the latter also winning at the same meeting here last month in novice company. Acdc has undergone wind surgery since last seen in December but still has plenty to find if back to his best.
