In depth

Verdict

GETAWAY TRUMP and Rouge Vif are clear at the weights. But the former will be hard to beat if reproducing his second to Champ in the Grade 1 Challow Hurdle at Newbury in December and Paul Nicholl’s charge looks the one to beat on that form. Rouge Vif defied a penalty to land a novices’ contest at Newcastle and meets the rest of the opposition on favourable terms including Sedgefield novice winner Windsor Avenue and maiden hurdle winner Get Out The Gate. Elvis Mail arrives in better form than Strong Glance though the latter has had a recent wind operation and wears a tongue-tie for the first time today.
