In depth

Verdict

One or two of these are of interest, notably Canny Bay, but Raysrock should be all the rage with Ryan Mania's 10lb claim negating his penalty. It will be interesting to see what the market makes of the well connected Midas and winning pointer Seek The Truth but we'll concentrate on those that have already gone some way to proving their ability. The selection ran a blinder on his hurdling debut to dead-heat with the highly rated Logans Run but has endured his share of misfortune. He lost that race in the Stewards' room and then fell at the last when seemingly having the measure of another decent sort in Blackpool Billy but he made no mistake at Hexham last time. His form stands up to close inspection and he can go in again. Canny Bay is the obvious danger following his 6 length third to Lazy Darren who franked the form with a decent run at Aintree. Further improvement should see him give the selection something to think about. Robbie Dye has shown up well in bumpers on a couple of occasions and has the services of the talented Denis O'Regan for his hurdling bow, he's well worth a second look but it's hard to envisage too many of these being competitive and Raysrock makes plenty of appeal.
