In depth

Verdict

Twelve Paces is more than capable of taking advantage of bottom weight and Wild Cane Ridge looks dangerous off this mark at a track he likes but we hold preference with BOLD RANSOM, who should continue to improve here. Keith Reveley's charge is still very much unexposed and has held his form well since switching to chasing three starts ago. A winner over timber in similar company his performance two runs ago was very promising with the form line looking strong. That was followed with another good effort and with further improvement in the offing this looks his chance to get off the mark in this sphere. Wild Cane Ridge has had just the one run here and it resulted in a victory over a shorter trip. Perhaps not the force now than he was then he still looks dangerous off a mark four pounds lighter than his last winning rating. Twelve Paces also likes it here having won once from two tries. He does seem to favour jumping timber but is potentially well treated on these terms. The other three in the race Scarvagh Diamond, More Likely and Crackadee all have claims with bits and pieces of form but to win it we side with Bold Ransom
