Verdict
A quiet way to open the card at Kelso and Positive Profile makes the most appeal out of a an ordinary looking bunch of novices. Where as Australian import Ottoman is an interesting recruit for the Richard Guest team and is one to note for the future if he fares well today. Of the rest, Dottie Digger will no doubt attract some support after springing a surprise victory in a similar contest in a course and distance seller at the start of this month. And she will be hard to keep out of a place at least if she runs up to that form. However, her previous efforts were moderate to say the least and she would not be one to go overboard about as she bids to follow up. Impinda is fit from the flat and should run her race as she makes her debut over hurdles, but she the likelihood is that she will find at least one too good today and she is best watched. Therefore the process of elimination leads back to Positive Profile as the most reliable selection from a form book perspective. The Pat Haslam-trained gelding ran a blinder to finish ninth in the Cesarewitch at Newmarket last time and can be given a confident vote on that run alone. However, he also has some useful experience of hurdles already under his belt and will not be found wanting for lack of aptitude for the game this time around. The five-year-old hails from a yard that have enjoyed a steady stream of winners over the last couple of months and Positive profile can do his bit to enhance the stats here.
