Verdict
The Ring is a consistent performer and has to be respected but Keith Reveley's gelding has struggled under his penalty since landing a maiden hurdle in December and preference is for Bywell Beau, who gets the vote ahead of Dalkeys Lad. The last mentioned did not beat a great deal when winning a maiden hurdle at Cartmel back in May when last seen and a penalty for that success is probably of more concern than the lack of a recent run. Bollin Thomas has to be respected but may have to settle for a minor role again, while Westgrove Berry looks to be going the right way and comes from the in-form yard of Nicky Richards but is likely to find this tougher than the race that she won at Leicester when last seen. Falpiase lacks a previous run over hurdles but Howard Johnson's gelding was nothing out of the ordinary on the level, considering his pedigree, and may be best watched. Bywell Beau is more exposed than most but is a consistent performer and has conditions to suit so he may be good enough to resume winning ways in a competitive contest.
