In depth

Verdict

A straight match between Direct Flight and Noblefir and we will plump for the former. Both horses were decent bumper horses in their time but the fact that Noel Chance has been so bullish about Direct Flight leads one to believe that we are yet to see the best of him and having taken this race with La Luna last term, it is to Noel Chance we turn again. Noblefir ran appalingly on his last racecourse visit and has had plenty of time off. That said, he was not the only one on the day to do that and without that blemish on the book, his overall bumper form makes pretty sound reading. Cyrium has to be respected in the light of Charlie Mann's recent purple patch and could be the most likely danger to our duo. The yard have had two recent wide margin winners and this horse is substantially upped in trip. Camp Hill is still a novice at ten years of age while the remainder of the field look distinctly ordinary on all we have seen thus far. Direct Flight can maintain Noel Chance's record in this contest and we will seek not to oppose.
