Verdict
Paperprophet can hump topweight to victory, with According To Pete, River Alder and Crazy Horse all worth a mention at least. Nicky Richards and Tony Dobbin teamed up to win this event 12 months ago with Bob's Gone, and on his latest effort, Paperprophet looks set to keep the prize at Greystoke. In truth the eight-year-old has been a bit disappointing since tackling better company over the past two years, but this step up in trip and easier ground will surely help his cause, and there does not appear to be lot to beat here, apart from According To Pete. Malcolm Jefferson's charge had looked a progressive sort before disappointing on his handicap debut at Stratford last time, and is given another chance to prove himself. He an go close without being good enough to beat the selection. River Alder won over the course-and-distance 12 months ago and in fact stays further. She is a future Scottish National type according to her trainer and that should be kept in mind for future reference. Crazy Horse was pulled up on his last outing in February and is rapidly approaching the end of his career, while Monte Rosa should be noted in the market. However, we return to his stablemate Paperprophet as the answer.
