Verdict

In a tricky race, Lady Georgette is selected ahead of Lady Pilot and Bowl Of Cherries. Taking it from the top and Play Up Pompey made late headway after a slow start last time and a good run is far from ruled out. Shaheer was just over a length behind him in that race. Well-weighted on his best winning Turf form, Voice Mail's all-weather efforts have yet to match it. Camp Attack ran fairly well over course and distance two runs ago and holds place claims, while Bowl Of Cherries has a poor win record but, having run well in each of his last two starts, a step up from a mile from the last of them will probably show him in a better light today. Milk And Sultana is five pounds better off for the neck that Shaheer beat her over course and distance in November, so can be given a squeak based on that, and Lady Pilot comes into things based on a good 11- furlong Lingfield run, for which she has been dropped two pounds. Danzare caught the eye over course and distance last time and is another that should be given some thought, even though she lacks consistency, and, given that her best run on Turf arguably came over today's trip, Lady Georgette does not look badly treated following a couple of solid 12-furlong all-weather efforts. Finally, Show Me The Lolly could be interesting as he is not badly weighted based on his 2005 form, and two runs after an absence have shown gradual improvement. Don't rule him out; that comment also applying to Hiawatha, who was not beaten far over course and distance from today's mark last time. Overall, though , the vote stays with Lady Georgette.
