Verdict

Richard Hannon's VITZNAU disappointed on soft ground in the Lincoln last week and looks worth another chance back on the Polytrack over a trip that suits, racing off the same mark as when successful here two years ago, with the main dangers in a competitive contest looking to be Bravo Echo and Autumn Blades. Alan Bailey's gelding has every chance if able to reproduce the form that he showed when a good second at Lingfield last month but he has the worst of the draw being stalled in box number one and looks best watched. Mick Channon's Rileyskeepingfaith ran much better last time in Meydan and is well drawn so he cannot be discounted back in the UK, while any market support for The Scorching Wind would be of interest being trained by Stuart Williams. Gerard Butler's runners have yet to hit top form so Beauchamp Viceroy is probably best left out of calculations, while Thebes does represent a very much in-form yard being trained by Mark Johnston and he should do better back on the Polytrack having disappointed on the Fibresand last time. Bravo Echo and Autumn Blades are closely matched on their running at Lingfield recently and there should not be much to choose between the pair again but preference is for Vitznau, who can resume winning ways having run below par in the Lincoln last time.
