In depth
Verdict
Code Orange has been given plenty of time since a decent debut and John Gosden can reap the rewards with a win here, while Loyal Love is an obvious danger, and these two are likely to have what is a weakish division between them. Godolphin hold the key to the race, given that they run Loyal Love and will have an idea of how that compares to stablemate Satin Kiss, conqueror of Code Orange at Leicester in June. John Gosden's filly ran really well that day, with the front two drawing clear of the rest, and she should now be spot on to break her duck at the second attempt. If she does not, then it will surely be Loyal Love who lowers her colours. The daughter of Danzig is bred to perform as a juvenile, and this trip will do nicely, so with Godolphin in such good form with their two-year-olds this year, her chance is given plenty of respect. Xeeran and Bailey Gate represent the best of the rest, but they will have to find plenty to trouble the featured pair, and we will side with Code Orange to put her experience to good use.
