Verdict

Captain Navarre sets the standard with a handicap mark of 81 as he returns to maiden company. But the less exposed NIGEL may have too much for him here given the latter finished third at Salisbury last month and the first two home have both subsequently won. Winter Serenade is another to consider now stepping up in trip after a decent debut effort at Ascot while Barefoot Dancer has a shout if reproducing his earlier effort at Haydock where he finished runner-up. Chapel Choir never figured over shorter trips last year but is a half-sister to middle-distance winners and worth noting on her reappearance.
